County Parks department has deemed the Playground as unsafe and it will be permanently closed until a replacement is constructed in Phase 2, probably in 2024.
Following inspection, the playground at Flood Park will remain closed as it does not meet current safety standards and can’t be repaired. Design and construction of a new play structure are part of the Realize Flood Park improvement plans but were originally planned for the final phase of the project. Recognizing how important play features are to park visitors, the Department will now include this in Phase 2. Community meetings will be scheduled later this year to receive design ideas.
